This was a mere four years ago. Back then I wondered aloud, “Could this man ever be President?”

I figured it would happen, someday. I didn’t realize that day would come so soon.

I know I don’t say much around here. But that should be enough for tonight.

The prize is well-deserved!I’m surprised, and frankly a little shocked, at all the vitriol he’s getting from the right. Of course I’m also surprised that there are still global warming doubters out there, highly militant ones no less. In all honesty, I haven’t devoted a whole lot of attention to Hurricane Katrina and the chaos left in its wake. Besides dealing with my petty personal problems, it’s just sort of hard to come to terms with something of that magnitude. I mean it’s a city, gone, thousands dead, and the living probably envy them. I knew about the London attacks hours ago, but I haven’t been able to put together a proper response until now. In fact I’m still having a bit of difficulty.
